Brian Morton from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
I am a 36 year old singer/songwriter who lives in Hamilton, Ontario. I've had a 23 year long relationship with Chris De Burgh's music ever since discovering the "Spanish Train" LP at my Aunt's place. In the early 1980's I managed to get my hands on a Rickenbacker 12 String electric guitar, that at one time belonged to Chris De Burgh himself! Tragically, this priceless instrument was lost in a fire in 1991. The high point of my singing career so far was the opportunity to sing with Chris in September 1996 in Toronto and in London, Ontario in April 2000. I am keen to try another song, but am hoping to be invited next time! Brian was the chair of last years' CDEB Tribute CD commitee, and has enjoyed immensely being a part of the team for this year's edition.
I chose THE TOWER, because it was a favorite song from the very first De Burgh album I ever listened to. The version on this CD was recorded "live off the floor" with no overdubs. It is the best of two versions recorded, but alas still has a few small lyric errors, which hopefully I will be forgiven! Light and life everyone...
