Lance Johnson:
When the fan meeting was first announced, a number of mailing-list members mentioned that it would be nice if I could write a parody that everyone could sing to CdeB. Since Read My Name was a concert favorite and since the fan-meeting attendees were going to wear Read My Name shirts, I picked that song to parody. Hearing so many people sing was wonderful and I can only hope that CdeB enjoyed it.
Considering that I have little to no musical talent, it was absolutely wonderful to have Cesar Quintero and Brian Morton step up and organize the actual singing. Both played their guitars and directed the singing. Without them, this would never have happened.

For every fan that has been born
there is a chance to meet,
And Chris-de-Burgh has come to town,
oh-man this is so sweet,
So come to every party
as your head keeps spinning round,
And lift your glass up in the air
and toast it loud and proud,
"We have come here, read our names, read our names!"
For every fan that has been born
there is a chance to say,
Oh thank you Chris for all you've-done
and let us hear you-play,
So don't you quit and don't you stop,
just sing for us all-night,
And hope your voice does-not give out
and sing to our de-light,
"We have come here, read our names, read our names;
With all our dough we're here-to go,
we've bought our tickets to the show,
We have come here just read our names!"
Not that we're complaining
or protesting here at all,
we sing the strangest tributes
and we plan to have a ball,
And this day there will be a group
among the sold-out-crowd,
Who'll say "We've come all over Earth"
and this will be our vow;
"We have come here, read our names, read our names;
With all our dough we're here-to go,
we've bought our tickets to the show,
We have come here, just read our names!"
And when in New-York snow will fall
and bring the end of songs,
then take a sip of your best wine
and play it all night-long
"We have come here and we are here-to go,
We've bought our tickets to the show,
We have come here just read our names!"
